3 Self-Defense Tools Everyone Should Carry At All Times!

The most common non-lethal self-defense weapons you can carry at all times

In the course of the last couple of hundred years, humans have become cruel and the world in which we live can be a scary place. With that, it’s not surprising that humans have also come up with much more efficient non-lethal weapons.

Non-lethal weapons are unquestionably one approach to protect yourself. It’s critical to have a full understanding of the tools at your disposal so you can best identify which makes sense for the circumstances you are facing.

Below are some of the most common non-lethal self-defense weapons you can carry at all times

Tactical Pens

The idea of the tactical pen sounds like something out of a James Bond movie – a pen that does triple-threat duty as a glass breaker, self-defense instrument and DNA collector is straight out of Hollywood! What makes it so great is its low-profile, non-threatening design is perfect for taking pretty much anywhere, so there’s no need to worry about it getting confiscated. No one will look twice at it.

One of the pens we’ve found that we love is the ABP Tactical Pen, which features an airplane-grade aluminum point that is strong and pointed but safe to the touch, perfect for protecting yourself in a physical altercation if needed. After you pick one up, make sure to check out this helpful video that shows you how to defend yourself with a tactical pen.

Stun Guns

Stun guns are yet another non-lethal appliance that will help to protect yourself.

Stun guns are the most affordable, most effective self defense weapon money can buy. Stun guns are close proximity self defense devices that use high-voltage electricity to stop an attacker by momentarily disabling muscle control. Also called tasers or tazers, stun guns can give the attacker a shock and put him out of action. This will offer you enough time to escape. To use, simply pull the trigger and touch the aggressor with the metal prongs. A contact of one half of a second will repel and startle the intruder. One to two seconds results in a dazed mental situation. Three seconds can cause loss of muscle control and loss of balance and disorientation. Stun guns do not have far range capabilities, they are meant for close range self defense. To drop an attacker to the ground, you must touch the person with the unit.

Brass Knuckles

Most of us know of the potential that brass knuckles, knuckle dusters, or “knucks” have to inflict massive damage with a single strike.  In other words, brass knuckles are used primarily to increase the effectiveness of punches thrown during a fight.

Brass Knuckles

A typical set of brass knuckles is formed from one solid piece of metal- either aluminum, brass or another alloy. One end is formed into four open loops which fit loosely around the fingers. The other end forms a curve which fits squarely into the closed palm. Brass knuckles can be custom made to fit anyone. Due to the standard shape, brass knuckles rarely have a perfect fit. This can result in the accidental breaking of the fingers if a punch is thrown straight forward. Some people have been known the tape up the grip with padding to ensure a better fit.

A good whack to the face, neck, arm, leg, ankle, etc. and you might buy yourself enough time to escape.

Keep in mind that possession of a pair of brass knuckles or similar punch-enhancing tools is considered a felony in most countries.
